Leeroy & Cindy Engagement Shoot

So the whole purpose of an engagement photo-shoot is really to give me an understanding of what it's like to work with the said couple and to sort of prepare them for what to expect on the wedding day and of course the bonus would be the pictures at the end of the shoot. I love these beforehand images, it forces the couple to take themselves out of wedding mode for all of two hours and just relax with each other. We decided to use some of my favourite spots in KalkBay and the surrounding areas. I've known Cindy for a while now so I already knew what to expect while working with her but this was the first time Leeroy got to be part of the action and I think it went off superbly. I wanted to highlight their shoot with different variations of just black and white images :)

Kayleigh Jacobs: Newborn Shoot

Little Kayleigh (also affectionately known as Lizzie) made her arrival 16 September 2013 and what a blessed little girl with so many who already love her so dearly. Our first attempt at her newborn shoot didn't really go according to plan, but we persevered and tried again yesterday afternoon and I'm delighted because this time the shoot went much better than the last. I've decided to do all her pics in a hazed black & white - I wanted to add a more focused approach to the images. We'll be doing a full family photoshoot with Lucinda, Neil and big brother Rayden, in the next few weeks - so stay tuned :)

Kai Jacobs and family: Photo Update

So this little guy is almost 11 months old - yes, I know time has gone by so quickly, it was for this very reason that we thought it fitting to squeeze in an updated photo-shoot before his first birthday next month. Its been a real privilege to watch him grow from a newborn (pictures were taken December 2012) to a busy rambunctious toddler crawling all over the place. He's one of the most friendliest babies I've ever met and I absolutely love watching him come into his own personality. We managed to pin big brother Keiyon down for a couple of pictures but he was more into playing with his cousins than entertaining my camera lense:)

Cape Town Colour Run 2013

I was asked a few weeks ago to be the photographer for SHAWCO - the official charity of the Cape Town 2013 Colour Run , I had to decline due to the time that the race was scheduled to take place. I was pleasantly surprised when I was called two days before the event (19 October 2013) to ask if there was anyway I could help out as the times of the race had changed, I literally jumped at the opportunity! It was the most fun both my camera and I had seen in a long time, there were a few kids from the SHAWCO branch based out in Manenberg, whom were sponsored to attend the race - they had an absolute ball of a time - The Cape Town Colour Run no doubt lived up to its name - the Happiest 5k Run EVER! Next year, Tristan and I will definitely be partaking :)

Damien and Carmen - Wedding Day

Last weekend I had the honour of taking the wedding images for this amazing couple - I was really impressed at how well Carmen planned everything for their special day. The wedding venue was the One and Only Hotel in gorgeous Cape Town's V&A Waterfront with Table Mountain as a backdrop.

The theme throughout Damien and Carmen's wedding depicted such elegance and grace - but the love they share for each other was even more evident.
