Damien & Carmen Engagement Shoot

Saturday afternoon, I had the privilege of capturing Damien and Carmen's engagement shoot... For their wedding they mentioned that they really keen on using the beach close to the hotel where they'll be tying the knot, so I suggested an opposite theme/ idea for their engagement shoot, thus we chose Tokai Arboretum - another one of my favorites!  The weather wasn't all that happy, we encountered some rain and a bit of a chill in the air... but I make no secret that I absolutely adore overcast weather. I loved working with this couple - they are as cute as buttons and it's very evident that they smitten with each other. Being able to capture the very essence of their love in their most natural state is what I consider the best part of my job :)

Lucinda's Baby Shower

This weekend I attended Lucinda's baby shower where I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap up a couple of images. Everything was set-up so prettily and in such detail by Lucy's sister in laws, a definite sign that they value and love her dearly. The baby shower was great fun with the many games played and lovely eats and treats. Lucy received so many adorable little goodies for Kayleigh, I wish they made half of these things in my size ;)

Full House - Haywood Family Shoot

Sunday passed, I was asked to take a few creative family images for two remains mainly. They wanted to highlight the many birthdays that they celebrated in the month of August and most importantly they wanted me to capture some of their precious family moments. I worked with Rowan and Shalane not so long ago <Miracle Baby Post> thus I was happy to re-connect with them again. So, after an intense couple of Wintry weeks, with a slight chill in the air, the weather let up a bit and we were able to capture some images at Tokai Forest and at Muizenberg Beach. All in all, we had a great time - a very humble family to work with :)

Women at Heart Event

Two weeks ago, I entered a competition at Heart 104.9 Fm Radio station and low and behold I went through the nerve-wrecking process of becoming a semi-finalist, then a finalist and to my surprise, I and my lovely besties were one of the winners. The prize was 4 tickets to the much anticipated Women at Heart event hosted by Heart Radio of course. The event was held, Saturday, 24 August, with the weather playing it's part, we got dressed up, put our best feet forward and headed to the event at the Look Out Restaurant overlooking the Waterfront. We got to take some pics with the up and coming Jimmy Nevis and Matthew O' Connell and the various Heart FM DJ's, all in all, us dancing queens had a smashing time ;)

Women's day festivities: 9 August 2013

As we celebrated National Women's Day this year, I got to enjoy some rest and relaxation with some really great friends. Even though we heading towards the end of winter, we were blessed with a warm sunny day. En route to Franschhoek - a cute and quaint little town - we got to see the beautiful snow capped mountains. All round we had a great afternoon - the chocolate tasting tour was my favourite  - no guesses why :)
