Last week a friend of mine, Deidre, owner of Mzansistore - an online e-commerce store, asked me if I would help her out out and take a few pics of some of the products she sells. I finally got some time to do it today, I roped Carey (short for Crecencia) in, my beautiful Zimbabwean colleague who works with me - to model some of the t-shirts and bags that can be bought from the store online. Mzansistore sells beautifully crafted locally produced goods at very affordable prices, I would really encourage you to check them out :)
Carey was a photographer's dream - who would have thought we had such a little model amidst us. The pictures were taken at the very eclectic Woodstock Exchange, the building where my organization is housed and also home to a business incubator called TheBarn, for more information you welcome to check out their site here.

December saw the arrival of the much anticipated Jacobs/Cana wedding take place. It was a pretty big deal amongst my clique of friends and I wanted their wedding images to reflect that big deal. It was hot and we ran slightly late due to various reasons, but was well planned nonetheless reflecting real beauty. Cindy looked absolutely breath-taking and Leeroy complimented her and their bridal party so well. I'm really excited about their photo-book, there are more black and white images which have recently become my absolute favourite setting so I'm really excited to see how that prints :) I'm praying for a blessed marriage journey for the lovely couple and my hope is that they always radiate love for each other as LOVE does cover a multitude of sins :)

In 2012, I had the honour of taking Mario and Judene's wedding images - presently they live in Durban and on a family holiday to Cape Town, December 2013, they asked me to please do a family shoot as their first wedding anniversary gift to themselves. They extended their family of three by adding the very gorgeous Rio, an absolute pleasure to work with. We settled at Tokai Plantation and then made a stop at the train station, unfortunately Rio fell asleep - the afternoon's activities proved a little too much for this happy 7 month old, all in all as my last photoshoot for 2013, I was happy to spend time with this blessed family.

Last November, I had the misfortune of having my camera stolen after I had completed Radley & Celeste's engagement shoot in the Cape Town CBD area. Blessed with my new camera, I was able to re-take their engagement images but because of time constraints, we were only able to do their shoot after their wedding in December 2013 - but it was great fun, went a lot quicker and gave me the opportunity to spend more time with this peaceful and very special couple.

Wow - 2014 just creeped up on us - but i'm so thrilled with the possibilities that lie ahead for this amazing year. I had a really busy festive season and to be truthful I was quite sick, but that didnt stop me from spending time with really amazing friends and family. I hope everyone had a special Christmas and welcomed 2014 with flair, grace and much anticipation for the rich experiences that awaits us all.
Below some of my favourite quotes for the New Year - I'm not one for resolutions (mainly because I dont stick to them after a week) but let's all go into the 2014 applying those little tidbits of wisdom so we can recognize character shaping and be witness to our true growth potential.
Lets make the next 363 days the best of 2014!
