Danica & Kai's 1st Birthday Parties

In 2012, we celebrated the births of two very special babies, both of them so dear to my heart (newborn images were taken Dec 2012).  2013 saw us celebrating their very 1st birthdays, I was a guest at both parties, but there was no way that I was going to celebrate their special days WITHOUT taking any pics! I decided to add their pics together in one post instead of posting repetition and to showcase the different party themes.
Danica celebrated her birthday 15 November 2013 with a Piglet party theme and Kai celebrated his birthday 14 December 2013 with a Noddy party theme - both parties just a month apart. I loved watching these precious angels grow in the last year by coming into their own little personalities - both such happy, healthy and absolute blessings to their parents and everyone else they get to cuddle with.

Wedding Day: Radley and Celeste

I had the honour of taking this gorgeous couple's wedding images - 7 December 2013. Unfortunately their engagement shoot was stolen along with my camera - so we have decided to reschedule after the engagement shoot - stay tuned for those images :)

Driving to their wedding was actually quite funny and could have ended up in disaster, because I hadn't been at the venue yet, which was quite far out - I decided to follow behind the couple, only to realize I had no petrol in my car - EEEK I can only thank God that I arrived safely :) 

Celeste has the most calming nature - nothing seemed to have upset her radiance on her wedding day.  The weather was hot, but right before we did their bridal party images we were blessed with some cloud cover - no complaints from me on that front as everyone knows I love working in overcast conditions and of course I'm still crazy about the black and white application :)

Matric Farewell Dance: Olyn-Che...

So, I had one of the worst things happen to me in the last month, my precious camera was stolen *sniff sniff* but I'm facing the grief of my loss head on - and after fighting with my insurance to payout for a new camera, my first shoot with my new Canon 650d was Olyn-Che's Matric Farewell Dance 2 weeks ago. I met Olyn when she was about 16 years old. I took her older sister's pre-matric dance images as well but I was pleasantly shocked when I arrived at their home, first because I didn't realize that I was taking her images when she contacted me and secondly at how beautifully she has grown since 2 years before. The colour of the dress and the dress itself suited her so well. At the moment I'm in a black and white phase, most of the images are black and white (bear with me) I'm loving this application so much - seriously can't get enough hehehe

Leeroy & Cindy Engagement Shoot

So the whole purpose of an engagement photo-shoot is really to give me an understanding of what it's like to work with the said couple and to sort of prepare them for what to expect on the wedding day and of course the bonus would be the pictures at the end of the shoot. I love these beforehand images, it forces the couple to take themselves out of wedding mode for all of two hours and just relax with each other. We decided to use some of my favourite spots in KalkBay and the surrounding areas. I've known Cindy for a while now so I already knew what to expect while working with her but this was the first time Leeroy got to be part of the action and I think it went off superbly. I wanted to highlight their shoot with different variations of just black and white images :)

Kayleigh Jacobs: Newborn Shoot

Little Kayleigh (also affectionately known as Lizzie) made her arrival 16 September 2013 and what a blessed little girl with so many who already love her so dearly. Our first attempt at her newborn shoot didn't really go according to plan, but we persevered and tried again yesterday afternoon and I'm delighted because this time the shoot went much better than the last. I've decided to do all her pics in a hazed black & white - I wanted to add a more focused approach to the images. We'll be doing a full family photoshoot with Lucinda, Neil and big brother Rayden, in the next few weeks - so stay tuned :)

Kai Jacobs and family: Photo Update

So this little guy is almost 11 months old - yes, I know time has gone by so quickly, it was for this very reason that we thought it fitting to squeeze in an updated photo-shoot before his first birthday next month. Its been a real privilege to watch him grow from a newborn (pictures were taken December 2012) to a busy rambunctious toddler crawling all over the place. He's one of the most friendliest babies I've ever met and I absolutely love watching him come into his own personality. We managed to pin big brother Keiyon down for a couple of pictures but he was more into playing with his cousins than entertaining my camera lense:)
